I’m going to start this off with saying one thing in particular. I have been a fan of gaming since I was just a little boy. I can still remember begging my older brother for a turn on the Super Nintendo. As my mother saw the hurt from missing out on these classic gaming experiences, she purchased me a Sega Genesis for my birthday in 1996. By the time 1998 came around, I was given a Nintendo 64 and a PlayStation in 1999. On top of that selection of consoles, I had already developed a love for the GameBoy Color. Video games had become my passion and my past time to say the least. Now let’s jump to this coming generation.

Remember that Start button in the bottom left-hand corner of every Windows-powered device prior to 2012? Well, chances are, if you’re reading this from a Windows PC, that it’s probably in sight right now as you are reading this. Most consumers have decided not to upgrade to Windows 8, excluding myself and a few others who are tech savvy enough to realize that Windows 8 is merely Windows 7 with the addition of mobile-styled apps and more intuitive menus. It seems that Microsoft is beginning to understand their general consumers who tend to utilize PCs for more casual use such as primarily for Facebook, E-mail, and news.
Dan Harmon announced last week that Sony had asked him to return to produce the low-rated yet critically-acclaimed NBC sitcom, Community, to which he has yet to respond whether or not he will be accepting this offer. Many viewers have recently claimed that the series has changed negatively in the recent fourth season of the show, the first (and hopefully only) season of Community to leave out its original creator. After a lengthy decision over whether or not the show would be renewed for a fifth season, it was eventually decided that the series will return eventually, but not in the Fall.

Remember that Wii U exclusive you thought you knew? Well now it’s exclusivity is has drawn even farther from the truth. Earlier this year it was announced that in addition to Wii U, Rayman Legends would make its way onto the current-gen Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, most likely due to Wii U’s lack of sales since its launch. The Vita version of the platforming sequel to 2011’s Rayman Origins will use touch controls “to zoom, take out enemies, and manipulate platforms, cut ropes to clear a path and much more.” In addition to these features, the portable version of the game will also include five exclusive touch-based levels on Vita. Rayman Legends will release on PS Vita, as well as Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360 on September 3rd in the U.S. and August 30th in Europe.
