According to a press-release from Nintendo, on April 22, five major Nintendo titles for the Nintendo 3DS will drop in price from $39.99 and land on the e-store and at a retail suggested price of $29.99. Three of them, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and New Super Mario Bros. 2 are the top selling Nintendo 3DS titles to be released to date. Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Donkey Kong Country are also put at the new price.
The top three titles have all sold over 7 million units separately world-wide and according to Nintendo 2.15 million in the US. Nintendo adds that all titles included in the price drop have sold a collective 9 million units. Impressive, as it essentially means that almost every fifth Nintendo 3DS owner owns each top-three title.
