Community Contest: The Last of Us Screenshots

by Christopher Stahler

In early February, Sony announced at their State of The Platform that people have shared their gameplay/screenshots over 48 million times. This was when the console sales were only at 4.2 million and now they are closing in on 9 million. So it is safe to assume that the number at the very least has doubled. With that and the release of The Last of Us: Remastered with the Photo Mode feature, we at B-TEN are asking the community to show us your moves! And show us your favorite/best screenshot you have captured in The Last of Us. The contest winners will have their art featured in an article pinned to our front page — and maybe even a special random prize from our magnificent chest of random prizes.

Community: What’s the Greatest Video Game Story Ever Told?

by Gabe Carey

It’s funny how, when you ask an entire community of 60 people what the greatest video game story is, the results differ so significantly. While I expected most to answer with the same critically-acclaimed post-apocalyptic survival game from last year, I was intrigued at the actual results, which can be seen below. It just goes to show that there are a lot of excellent video game narratives out there and that we all have varying opinions on which one is best. It just goes to show that one man’s opinion is another man’s garbage, or something like that.

Microsoft Reveals Xbox Live Games with Gold Offerings for August 2014

by Gabe Carey

Beginning last year, Microsoft has been generous enough to give away free games each month to Xbox Live users as part of their Games with Gold initiative. In July, we received the excellent Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition which debuted at no extra cost for Xbox One owners with a Live subscription. If you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and play Guacamelee before it’s replaced on Friday with the less-than-stellar Crimson Dragon and the seemingly average Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut.
